666 – The Mark of The Beast
October 12th 2011 15:59
It seems there is a lot of speculation as to what the number of the beast means. Some say that it is a tattoo, others think it will be a chip of some sort. But, instead of speculating, let's look at what the bible says about it.
“Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.” (Revelations 13)
The bible explains what the “number of the beast” means when it says to “count” the number; Satan comes at the 6th seal, 6th trump, and 6th vile as scripture has told us. The true Christ doesn't come until the 7th seal, 7th trump and 7th vile. People who have not studied scripture to learn this, will be deceived. Especially those that have embraced the doctrines of man instead of adhering to the warnings that God has given us.
“What is the Mark of the Beast?”
The mark in the hand means that people will be doing his work and the mark in the head means that they will be deceived into thinking he is the true Christ. Hands mean works or labors, and what is in your head but your mind or brain. We need to understand the scriptures in the simplicity that God inspired them and Christ taught them. Don't listen to people who would cloud your understanding and make the issues confusing.
“But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtlety, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:3)

well, frankly, if you want to get as close as possible to the original texts you would have to get access to the Dead Sea Scrolls, and today you can do that, thanks to a university chap who pushed for the publication of the microfilm taken of the scrolls.
It caused a huge stir both in Israel and the Vatican, as both were jealously guarding the scrolls, and all modern work was done by their translators working off the Aramaic scrolls.
Of course, this means the Vatican and Israeli/Jewish interests were protected.
However, since the inadvertant trouble caused by the American Huntigton Library, then Robert Eisenman releasing the original texts, many experts in anthropology and history and ancient languages and customs got access to the actual texts as they were recorded a couple of thousand years ago.
Here is a link to one publiscation of the original texts, there are now amny authors who have published their own versions, since it first was published by the Huntington Library, but the link is to Robert Eisenman, a highly regarded scholar and the first to demand free access to the original texts.
However, one must remember this; you are either a blind faith believer, then you do not want your idea of the history challenged, or, you are like me, and prefer to seek open truth, and then decide for yourself what was originally being said and taught in the texts.
But, one thing is for sure, the Bibles, like the St.James, have been re-interpreted through many languages, over centuries and have had a lot of 'interpretation', from the original language, to Greek, to Latin, to English, so it does not take much thought to realise we are not reading necessarily the original meaning of the texts, but a translation skewed by vested interests and the moral sentiments of the times in which the particular versions of the Bible were rewritten.
cheers and good reading,

I do agree that we must get to the core of the original writings to clearly understand because so much of what has been taught is more the traditions of men than the true message from our Father. The best a person can do is to get copies of the original manuscripts from which we got our bibles. Biblical scholars obtain copies of these (early in their studies) and they can be acquired in many places online or through bible colleges. To read the word as it was written and get to the core words used, it helps the reader to rightly divide the word of God and understand the original meaning.
The Strong's Exhaustive Concordance is a great tool for those who do not have copies of the manuscripts as it shows the original words used- Both Hebrew and Greek.
The King James is the closest to the original text as far as bibles today go, but again, there are still some translations of the words that are a little off.
