Are You Truly a Christian?
February 27th 2011 23:01
We should assess ourselves from time to time to see how we have changed for the good that we have been created for. We need to ask the question, “If I died today and went before God, would there be enough evidence to convict me of being a Christian?” Now, that doesn't mean simply have I changed for the better- NO. Everyone changes during there life and as they get older. But, more importantly, is have I changed in the vital areas that I am supposed to.
Do you still practice, condone, or are you seen in the eyes of others as practicing/condoning:
-deceitful manipulation
-condoning the bad behavior of others around you
-using an abusive nature either with words or works
-living by the sins of the flesh or making excuses for others who live by these sins (ie. sexual immorality)
-covetousness
-idolatry (and remember that anything can be idolatry: people- ie. children, actors, singers, politicians, music, movies, careers, etc. – basically anything you obsess over or spend more time on than worshiping God ie. Prayer, praise, thanksgiving, ministering to the needs of others, etc.)
-murder
-etc.......
