Becoming Rich

Of course, by now, everyone has heard the old expression “money is the root of all evil.” Well this is not completely true but there is no denying all the ways that money fuels the desire to sin. Assassins commit murder in exchange for it, blackmailers stoop to low levels for it, women sell their bodies for it, thieves steal it, most people covet it, people lie about it, etc. etc. etc. But, it is a necessary part of life.
When reading the New Testament we see that Jesus talks about money A LOT! In fact He devoted much of His attention to this topic. We shouldn’t strive to be rich. We should use money as we need it. We should not be consumed with the riches and wealth of this world but we should instead store up our riches in heaven. The only way to do this is through living life righteously and living a Christian standard. A good scripture to read is Luke 12:15, but there are so many more this was a difficult one to choose for today.
