Being Loyal to God
April 19th 2009 13:55
Being loyal to God is essential throughout our lives. Exodus 20:4-7 gives us some directions on how to live without sin. We need to live each day with the following words:
1. An idol is anything or anyone that you think of and show love to more often than God. This can be a singer, actor, parent, children, animal, etc.
2. Do not make shrines of anything or anyone and allow respecting it to dominate your life.
3. God demands love and respect, as He should. He created us; it is much like responsible parents demanding love and respect from their children.
4. Do not take the Lord’s name in vain. When your lips speak God or Jesus make sure that it is in prayer or teaching that you are saying it and not use it as an everyday “word”.
5. Every promise you make to God or under God are binding, treat them as such.
