Christians During the Tribulation: What is Our Role?
November 30th 2011 11:05
In Ephesians Paul writes about the elect, those who have a destiny and were born in the end generation for that destiny. These people were chosen before the foundations of this world age to do a very specific task.
When Satan gets here, we have a job to do. We are not to worry or get all upset, but we should instead realize that Christ is coming quickly and we are to do what we have been sent to do. The world will be tested, Satan and his angels will be deceiving as many as will let him and our job is to teach the truth amidst it all. We are supposed to go out and spread the truth so that people can decide which they choose to follow. When we do this certain things will happen:
Luke 21:12-17 “But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and prisons. You will be brought before kings and rulers for My name’s sake. But it will turn out for you as an occasion for testimony. Therefore settle it in your hearts not to meditate beforehand on what you will answer; for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to contradict or resist. You will be betrayed even by parents and brothers, relatives and friends; and they will put some of you to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake.”
Mark 13:9-13 “But watch out for yourselves, for they will deliver you up to councils, and you will be beaten in the synagogues. You will be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony to them. And the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. But when they arrest you and deliver you up, do not worry beforehand, or premeditate what you will speak. But whatever is given you in that hour, speak that; for it is not you who speak, but the Holy Spirit. Now brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; and children will rise up against parents and cause them to be put to death. And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end shall be saved.”
Now, many people might ask, why would our own family and friends turn us in and betray us? The answer is simple, they will believe that Satan is Christ and will want us to be “saved”. Most will think they are doing right by us. This is a powerful force we will be up against. But even so, when we are taken in, we will not be afraid. Remember, Ephesians 6:10-13 “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."
