Christ's Birthday (Observed)
December 24th 2010 00:30
Merry Christmas!!! Tomorrow we observe for the remembrance of Jesus Christ's birth. Was He born on this day? No. He wasn't. The calendar has changed, anyone who studies history understands what I am saying but for those who do not know this history lesson, here it is in a nutshell. The calendar system we use today was not always so. It put the end of the year in another season altogether. But, when the change of calendars took place, Christmas stayed before the end of the year this time placing it in winter.
The observation of days in remembrance of an important person's birthday is not new. We have long done it. Just look at the calendar. Lincoln, Washington, Martin Luther King, they all have birthdays that are widely recognized as holidays. Are they on the actually day of birth? No, they are observed.
So, pay no attention to the remarks of the wicked when they choose to ridicule you for celebrating the birth of our Savior. Proclaim it loudly, proudly and with much love in your heart! The ignorant have chosen on which side they stand and serve, but that doesn't have to affect us.
