Communion: It is a sacred ritual and some people may not fully understand why we observe it. So, here are the reasons to help make it a little clearer.
1. We declare our Lord’s death (1 Corinthians 5:7)
2. Taking the Bread is to signify that our Lord’s body was broken. (1 Corinthians 11:24)
3. It is also a way we obey the Lord’s commandments. (Mark 14:22 and John 14:15)
4. Drinking the wine proclaims that salvation is through the blood of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 26:28 and Galatians 5)
5. Communion is a time to reflect and examine ourselves and how we can become better Christians. (1 Corinthians 11:27-28)
6. It also is a time to fellowship with the lord’s people. (Acts 2:42-47)
7. And more importantly, it is proclaiming that the Lord is coming again. (1 Corinthians 11: 26)
