The Conclusion to the Sermon on the Mount
November 26th 2008 19:15
The conclusion to the Sermon on the Mount means that we are still in Matthew 7:13-29. This is the tie that binds the entire teaching. Here is what this lesson has to say. “Enter by the narrow gate, for the wide gate leads to destruction.” Jesus has taught us what we need to do and how we need to live our lives.
We have been taught to obey ALL of God’s laws as Jesus had come back to fulfill them. He came to teach in a loving a merciful manner to save mankind from the depths of hell. It is up to us to obey. The narrow gate is the harder road to travel. Jesus has said to us pick up our cross and follow Him. This path means that we must walk a straight line with little to no room for wandering. We are to obey in all that we say, do, think, and feel.
The broad gate represents the ideas of the liberal man. Liberal, meaning the man who would rather live his life as he sees fit and expects God to just ‘deal with it’. Newsflash: He won’t deal with it. The broad gate is the wicked, selfish, and lawless path that will only lead you to hell. Jesus says to all that those who cry “Lord, Lord” to Him when they finally understand what they have done He will not accept them. Only those that listened and obeyed His words will enter Heaven.
Remember this: Every heart has a throne and a cross. If you are on the throne then Jesus is on the cross. If Jesus is on the throne then you carry the cross.

Round Politics
You know T.B.T. Jesus told us to pick up our cross and follow him, the cross gets heavy, but I always remember this, the cross will never out weight the grace. Just think one day we get to trade this old heavy cross for a Robe, and Crown.
Happy Thanksgiving, and may God bless you greatly.
