Don't Be Lukewarm, Stand on One Side or the Other

In Revelation God declares which churches He is happy with and which He is not. There was one church in particular who God was not happy with based on the fact that they didn't stand up for issues one way or another. They were like reeds blowing in the wind on various matters. You see, the Bible has the guidelines as to what we are to love and what we are to hate. We are not to judge whether something is good or bad as our father has already done that for us, He alone is judge. But since He has given us the scriptures on which we are to base our lives, actions, attitudes, and what we are to embrace and condemn, we are to uphold what He has deemed righteous and sinful.
Unfortunately, the church of the Laodiceans, didn't want to embrace all that was deemed good or hate all which God hated. They instead were “lukewarm” on issues and matters. Nothing was really bad, good was dependent on each personal decision, etc. In other words they were riding the fence on things that God had already judged as good and evil.
Revelation 3:14-16
“And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot. So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.”
This serves as a good reminder that those who truly love God will also love His ways above their own. When someone asks you how you feel on a topic that scripture tells us repeatedly that God hates, where will you stand? Will you stand up for God and His Righteousness or will you back peddle and use the lukewarm excuses, never really standing for or against the issues at hand?
