The Treatment of Your Enemies

September 18th 2008 16:20

So, do you have an enemy? Well, if you are a Christian then you have many as the world is against you. The Old Testament was taken out of context often and hatred was tolerated as the mentality of do to others as they do to you was adopted and practiced regularly.

When Jesus came He taught that we are to let God handle these problems by praying for our enemies. We are called to love them and pray for them instead of using hatred when we get angry.

Many things are forgiveable, TBT. But some things aren't. I'm quite guilty of being unable to forgive a few crimes against me and those I love. I won't do anything, personally (no revenge) but if God wants to forgive some of these evil critters, it's up to Him to do so. As Barack Hussein Obama would say, "that's above my paygrade."

Hey T.B.T. you are right the bible says they that live Godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution, and if the world hated him it would hate us also. We know that we are the enemy of the world.

The word says anyone that is friends with the world is enemy with God. But it is not our job to get even, but let God handle it for us. We are to forgive trespasses of others so God will for give ours.

ROMANS 12 : V 19-21
Dearly beloved, avenged not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord.
Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him ; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

I think that we all are guilty of this at some points in our lives. But it is so important that we heed the Word and refuse revenge by taking it to God in prayer and by faith leaving it with Him alone.
