Every Christian Should be Fruitful and Obligated
June 23rd 2010 16:57
We are near to wrapping up how Christians should live their lives based on Paul’s example. We are still reading from Romans 1:8-15.
What does it mean to be “fruitful”? It means that our thoughts, actions and attitudes must bare fruit. To bear fruit means that our good deeds should inspire, teach and otherwise influence other good behavior. To be fruitful means to multiply. So, we are to spread, or multiply, our message and by showing examples of Christian living.
Paul felt obligated to do this, we should too. Paul had a deep need to teach people of God’s love and of Christ’s teachings. We should feel obligated to lead others to salvation. Think about it: if your neighbors house was on fire, would you not feel obligated to go and help him out to safety? Well many souls are headed for a fire and they’ll be spending an eternity in it if Christians don’t feel obligated to lead them to safety (salvation).
