Evil Spirits: Possession

We have already learned about demonic oppression which is more mental and emotional control as opposed to possession which is domination and control over the physical body. Signs of oppression were those of certain feelings and emotions such as depression, guilt, etc. Today, we will look at physical signs of possession.
Mark illustrates a number of different things to watch out for. The actions and attitudes are displayed clearly as to how a person behaves who is being demonically controlled.
1. Limited or no rest. Insomnia and the inability to find peace and comfort. Being tormented both day and night.
3. Comforted only when around past things or death environments such as graveyards or tombs.
4. Outward expressions of hatred and violence. This can be toward others or to oneself. Self mutilation has long been a trait of a possessed person. Regardless of how a person tries to rationalize the act of mutilating their body it is not normal and has long been a “tell” that they are being controlled by evil spirits. Why? Because evil spirits or demons, or whatever it is that you choose to call it, hates human beings because we are the object of God's love and affection. They wish for us to be destroyed.
