Explaining the Parable

September 5th 2012 17:09
In our last lesson we learned the parable of the sower and the parable of the wheat and the tares. A further lesson that people should learn in this is one that is hardly ever taught. Many people believe that parts of God's word should be suppressed or hidden. I do not believe this, in fact I believe that everything in God's word should be taught or He wouldn't have given to us. Therefore, I am going to lay it out on the line for those with eyes to see and ears to hear.

Let's recap:
Matthew 13:38-40
“The field is the world, the good seeds are the sons of the kingdom, but the tares are the sons of the wicked one. The enemy who sowed them is the devil, the harvest is the end of the age, and the reapers are the angels. Therefore as the tares are gathered and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of this age.”

This is very simple to understand yet there are some false teachers that would teach against the words of Christ on this issue. Now, let's look at more of Christ's teachings about the fact that Satan has literal children here on this earth.

A Lesson from Jesus about Abraham's Seed and Satan's Seed:

37-41: The people tell Jesus that their father is Abraham while Jesus is teaching them a lesson as to who their real father is.

42-43: Jesus explains why some people just can not listen or learn the word of God.

“Jesus said to them, “If God were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from God; nor have I come of Myself, but He sent Me. Why do you not understand My speech? Because you are not able to listen to My word.”

In verse 44, Jesus nails it and flat out says who their father is.

“You are of your father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own resources, for he is a liar and the father of it.”

Now, let's apply a little common sense and biblical knowledge here. Who was the first murderer, or “murderer from the beginning” (ie. Genesis)? The answer is Cain. Who was the father of Cain? The answer is Satan. Some may say it was Adam, but they would show their ignorance. You will never find Cain in the record of Adam's genealogy.

Verses 45-47: Jesus continues the teaching that some are NOT the children of God.
“But because I tell the truth, you do not believe Me. Which of you convicts Me of sin? And if I tell the truth, why do you not believe Me? He who is of God hears God’s words; therefore you do not hear, because you are not of God.”
