Godly Men
July 13th 2011 18:25
God created men and women differently. Woman was made delicate, their physical body is not meant to produce mass muscles like a man's body (although there are many drugs and things that help women to look like men), women have an inherent emotional base in them which allows them nurture their babies and children whereas men are geared for the loving protection of those children rather than the tender love a mother shows. The list goes on but I am sure you understand my point.
To be a Godly man, there are some things that scripture teaches. Some men seem to think that because they have been made the physically stronger of the two that they are in “control”. That women are second class citizens and men are better. It is true that scripture says the man is to lead his household. But domination and control are not the ways that a man is intended to lead.
Look at it this way. We are children of God, are we not? The bible says we are. So, both children have a specific purpose. Both of which are equally important. A woman is emotionally strong which enables her love and minister to the family through love, tenderness, etc. A man is physically strong which enables him to protect, provide a safe environment for his family. Now, as children, men should see their job as taking care of the King's daughter. Would a son of God abuse the King's daughter or protect her? Would he listen to her concerns or disrespect her? Would he embrace her lovingly as the gentle soul God created or expect only servitude and demand from her all that which he will not do or give of himself?
To “lead” is more geared to protecting, guiding in safety, making sure that the family eats, has its necessities and flourishes in the Word of God. Men are to lean on, lead and love their wife and children.
