Are You Going to Heaven: Merciful
July 18th 2008 03:22
We are reading from Mathew 5 verses 3-12 and analyzing the character of who will enter the Kingdom of Heaven during the “Are You Going to Heaven” posts.
Matthew 5:7- “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.”
It is easy to show mercy to your mother for telling a secret about you that you wanted no one to know, or your child who broke an heirloom as opposed to a total stranger who ran over your dog or an elderly person that nearly killed you in a car accident. Showing mercy to those you feel may not deserve it shows the real merciful tendency within us. By expressing often and always we, in return, will be shown mercy when our day comes.

Mark 11:25
And when you stand praying, forgive, if you have ought against any: That your heavenly Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
We are all the time asking God to have mercy on us, and forgive us, so we should have mercy on one another and forgive each other no matter what the offense. If we don't we will not receive forgiveness for God.
James 2:13
For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy: and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.
