Are You Going to Heaven: The Persecuted
July 23rd 2008 03:27
We are reading from Mathew 5 verses 3-12 and analyzing the character of who will enter the Kingdom of Heaven during the “Are You Going to Heaven” posts.
Matthew 5:10- “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
We will all be called to stand up for our faith. This is to separate the true Christians from those that would pretend to be something they are not. When we stand up for God the Father and Christ the Lord we will be persecuted. Persecuted means to be offended, treated wrongfully, mocked, humiliated etc. It is when we choose to stand up for what is right regardless of how we are treated because we know that God is watching and He will take care of us. It is when pride and fear does not get in the way of following Christ and worshipping God, it is when we choose what side we are on and who we really work for in this life. It is standing in opposition of wicked men and telling the truth.
