The Good Samaritan Parable Explained
February 26th 2008 16:26
This is probably one of the best examples of the term ‘practice what you preach’. The Good Samaritan, found in Luke 10, shows us so much in how we should behave.
In this parable we see that the people that should’ve stopped to help didn’t. These 2 passerby’s were hypocrites. This shows us of our actions far too often. But this isn’t the only thing that should be learned. What about the lawyer that tried to antagonize Jesus as He was telling this parable? The questions were clearly offensive yet Jesus wasn’t provoked to anger.
For the record, as Jesus said to the lawyer when he asked who was his neighbor… EVERYONE is. Treat the needs of others as higher than your own.
