How Does God Feel?
October 19th 2011 16:02
The relationship with God is as a Father to His child, but when He sent His Son He wanted a closer relationship, that which is equal- which is the spiritual reference to husband and wife. We (Christians, the church) are all called the “bride” of Christ.
God knows how we feel. He knows that, to us, the ultimate betrayal is that of intimate relationships such as a spouse having an adulterous affair and sharing that special intimacy with another. That is the worst betrayal we can imagine- reading scripture shows us that He is trying to express how He feels when we choose to walk an evil path. He created us, provided for us and has poured out His love for us. When we choose to walk another way other than with Him, it breaks His heart. Notice how many times God equates His feelings when we turn from Him and partake in evil as being adulterous or unfaithful to Him. He has made every provision for us to live a healthy life, have a deep sense of peace, power over all of our enemies and still many turn from Him to take part in evil behavior and wicked lifestyles.
So, the next time you choose to sin or turn away from righteous acts remind yourself the magnitude of betrayal God feels and go Christ for forgiveness. If we constantly hurt the one we say we love are they going to believe “you didn't mean to do it” when you keep choosing the same deeds of betrayal? No. God feels, He created emotions, He knows how bad it hurts to have your love defiled.
