How We Should Handle the Pressures of Life
February 13th 2011 00:20
There are so many pressures in the world today. Our society is plagued with wickedness and stress on all different levels of life and it can be a burden to many. So, how are Christians supposed to handle the pressures of life? Today, let's read from Philippians 3:4-14.
Here are five things to learn from this scripture and apply to DAILY life:
1. Don't fear trials! Everyone has them! You are not alone. Remember that scriptures tell us that we will endure trials and not to be surprised. Jesus says, “Be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” There are also different types of trials, for instance; general issues, what God allows to shape us into better people and chastisement. (Matthew 6:25, Philippians 4:13, 1 Peter4:12-13)
3. In God we should trust! We should trust that what ever God is allowing to happen to us has a specific purpose. We don't always know what it is. We should never lean on our own understanding, desires or will for our lives. (Proverbs 3:5-6)
4. Keep going! God will withdraw Himself from a divided heart. He will be with you as you go provided you keep living for Him. Once you choose to do it yourself without His help, you might get exactly that. Self will often over-rides the capacity to discern God's will. Obedience first – blessings second. (2 Peter 1:4) Always move forward, choose your path and choose your master.

Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
