I'm Automatically Going to Heaven: FALSE!

Ephesians 5:1-7 has two very important things to learn for the follower of Christ. We will learn about the first lesson today.
So many people that claim to be Christians live a life that is pleasing to them and don't really put anything into their walk. Each day they will do things that are not Christian in nature and assume that just because they believe that Jesus is the Son of God then they will automatically go to heaven. Here is something to think about, even Satan himself, his followers and his fallen angels believe that. But to “be a believer” takes a little more. Because as a believer we are to “follow” Christ's example and His teachings.
In Ephesians 5 we see that no one that practices immorality will have any inheritance of heaven. Of course all of us have been guilty of these things in the past, but once we accept Jesus we MUST then act accordingly and in that commitment to follow Him we are a new creation and that old wicked person has passed away. But when we continue to practice we have not yet committed to Christ and accepted His free gift of salvation.
A person can only be a Christian by learning daily God's Word (scripture/the bible) and changing their life to imitate Christ. We must also remember that if we claim to be a Christian, without changing all the wicked ways and walking daily with Christ then we will endure the judgment and Christ's sacrifice will not cover our sins.
Hebrews 10:26-27 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.

We must be doers of the word not hearers only. Jesus said if you love me keep my Commandments. How can we commit to someone if we don't love them first?
