The Mission of Christianity
September 28th 2008 16:22
If you are a Christian and go to church then chances are you have heard about missions. Missions are when Christians travel to find those that have never learned the good news of Jesus Christ and the salvation that He brings His Believers. Some missions are in far away lands while others can be in our own backyard. My pastor says every heart without Jesus is a mission field. I am not sure where he heard that quote but it is so true.
In the bible it refers to the followers of God and His son Jesus Christ as have a job here on earth which is to go out and make disciples. (Read matt 28: 18-20) These are our orders. This is our mission. Just as people that work for Satan plant the seed of doubt, we that work for God are to plant the seed of truth.

When readers consider their particular possible missions, I wonder what they think of God's own mission, in order to be a part of it.
Like: God wants His glory expressed throughout the world through Christ's body of sons and daughters.
To go a little deeper: This glory is the expression of God's virtues, which are ready for distribution in the spiritual body of His beloved first resurrected one, Christ.
