Modern Applications

Let’s take another short break from the Romans study and open our bibles to 1 Thessalonians 3:1-13. This is a great passage to apply to our daily lives.
Sometimes it is hard to love other people, especially other Christians. Walking with the Lord can be very difficult. Some of the reasons that it is hard to love them is because there are those that pick and choose which scriptures to follow while ignoring some of the obvious lessons. Other reasons can include the flaunting of their lifestyle views which often contradicts the bible.
We must remember what Paul says about affliction in the first 5 verses which is that no one shall be shaken by affliction. In verse 5 we see that Paul points out the tempter as being the affliction, and who is the tempter? Satan.
We must always be careful and discern who is a true follower of Jesus and child of God versus who is a deceiver. As Christians we need to make a sound judgment and help those Christians who are not understanding the word of God. Through love and kindness we can teach them and point out the truth in scripture so that they may grow strong in faith.
