Jesus Talks about Murder PART ONE
August 17th 2008 15:14
In Matthew, as Jesus reinforces His Father's laws among the masses, He talks about murder. Now, we all know that killing another person is murder even in the form of abortion.
Here are a few scriptures that speak of the unborn: Notice that throughout the bible children are called child and babe when they are referring to the unborn as well as the born. This shows in itself that they are human life from the moment God allows conception.
"Truly children are a gift from the Lord; the fruit of the womb is a reward" (Psalm 127:3).
"You knit me in my mother's womb . . . nor was my frame unknown to you when I was made in secret" (Psalm 139:13,15).
"God . . . from my mother's womb had set me apart and called me through his grace" (St. Paul to the Galatians 1:15).
Scriptures on sacrificing the innocent blood of children. Yes, millions of babies are sacrificed for convenience. Some would argue that these scriptures are talking only about sacrificing to idols but then we must also incorporate that an idol is anything we hold more important than God. If a person is to reject the gift of God, a baby He formed in His image for our own selfishness then we are in effect an idol of our own lives. We feel that we are more important and what we want is more important than God or what He has given us.
"They mingled with the nations and learned their works . . . They sacrificed their sons and their daughters to demons, and they shed innocent blood, the blood of their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, desecrating the land with bloodshed" (Psalm 106:35, 37-38).
And how about love? Jesus teaches us these vital principals:
"Be merciful as your heavenly Father is merciful" (Luke 6:36).
"Go and do likewise" (Luke 10:37).
"Do unto others as you would have them do to you" (Matthew 7:12).
"Love one another" (John 15:17).
"If someone . . . sees a brother in need and refuses him compassion, how can the love of God remain in Him?" (1 John 3:17).
Is murder not the opposite of love? And how about when Jesus reaffirms His Father’s law of love thy neighbor and someone calls out well who is my neighbor? Jesus replied that everyone is… we are all to look out for one another and love… even the weakest of children deserve to be loved. And Jesus also said that when we love and show mercy for the weakest of human life we are doing to and for Him.
So, abortion is murder just as stabbing, shooting, poisoning, etc. another human being. Any person that is responsible for ending another person’s life, stopping their heart beat, destroying the physical form that God gave them… has committed murder.
