Once Saved Always Saved?

“Once Saved Always Saved!” I hear this so often. It has come to be a Christian's favorite excuse for doing as they please without a guilty conscience. But, it is not true. People think that once they come to believe in God and Jesus and ask for salvation then they are automatically going to heaven. Wrong. To love and believe in the Holy Trinity or Godhead (God the Father, Jesus His Son/our Savior, and the Holy Spirit) you must seek Him through scripture, learn what pleases him and obey in all things daily. If you slip, you MUST repent in order to not be judged on that sin. If you keep sinning you are going to face hell whether you think you are “saved” or not. You do not make the call whether you are saved for one. God does. But, let's see what scripture says about a wicked man (he who sins and lives by his own will) and a righteous man (he who is upright, just and moral/Christians or children of God are referred to in scripture as righteous) and what happens when they sin.
Ezekiel 18:21-24 “But if a wicked man turns from all his sins which he has committed, keeps all My statutes, and does what is lawful and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions which he has committed shall be remembered against him; because of the righteousness which he has done, he shall live. Do I have any pleasure at all that the wicked should die?” says the Lord GOD, “and not that he should turn from his ways and live?”
“But when a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, and does according to all the abominations that the wicked man does, shall he live? All the righteousness which he has done shall not be remembered; because of the unfaithfulness of which he is guilty and the sin which he has committed, because of them he shall die.”
Ezekiel 18:26-28 “When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity, and dies in it, it is because of the iniquity which he has done that he dies. Again, when a wicked man turns away from the wickedness which he committed, and does what is lawful and right, he preserves himself alive. Because he considers and turns away from all the transgressions which he committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.”
Then, in verses 30-32 God says: “Therefore I will judge you every one according to his ways,” * and then He tells us what to do if or when we DO sin so that we do not lose eternal salvation: “Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin.” AND, how do we live from the point of repentance? “Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit.” WHY does God want you to repent and turn from all wicked practices? God tells you: “I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies,” says the Lord GOD. “Therefore turn and live!”

Jesus told us to be holy as our Heavenly Father is holy, Jesus died that we could have our sins forgiven.
