Paradise Lost?

December 5th 2010 00:11

As we continue with our Romans study we find ourselves in chapter 5:12-21. Please take a moment to read through this scripture before we begin.

Verse 12 starts by showing us the root of sin. Because of one man, sin had entered the world. Once man was corrupt by Satan, all people have been affected throughout the ages. As we continue throughout the scripture there are points of interest for us to focus on.
1.) Two people contrasted: Adam and Jesus. As an individual, you either follow Adam's lead or Jesus' lead. Adam disobeyed and chose to give in to the temptation and sin whereas Jesus always obeyed.

2.) Two programs contrasted: Judgment (all men will be judged) and Justification for the faithful (he who receives Jesus and obeys shall be justified).

Then, in verse 21, when Christ is rejected by man's free will they will endure hell. God forces no one. Every man must choose their path. Faith and obedience offers eternal life with Him whereas the wages of sin is death.
The title of this bible study suggests that paradise was lost, and in fact it was but as you can see it was also regained. Adam may have given it away but Jesus brought it back.
