Preparing for Spiritual Warfare

Last time we learned what “spiritual warfare” was, today we will learn how to prepare for spiritual battle. Listen how Paul addresses the soldiers of God which is to say, His children, the true followers of Christ.
Ephesians 6:10-13
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
First we are told here that we are to be strong, we are not be scared or timid or worried. We have been given the power of Almighty God. He has made us strong, He has made us to endure.
We will get into the Armor of God in our next lesson, today we are just going to focus on preparation. With this armor we can fight Satan at every turn.
Notice in verse 12 what it is that we are up against. We will be attacked. Many of you can likely already account for some supernatural occurrences or attacks on you and your family. And, the closer you get the more the Holy Spirit will give you the eyes to see these evil things around you or working in your life. This will help you to recognize an attack when you see it.
Finally, notice the authority given to us to stand. We are not to sit by and watch, we are not to turn our backs on the battle. We are to stand against evil.
