Pretending
March 22nd 2009 22:56
Life is not a game. Yet, countless people believe it to be. A person that can not deny himself and live life according to God’s word and laws can not ever find true happiness nor have eternal life. “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me.” Mark 8:34
So many people pretend that they are all there is in life, that they can do what they want when they want and all will be okay. But this is all make-believe. It is pretend. I am sure some of you know what I am talking about. Like the 50 year old woman still wearing hip-hugger jeans and a belly shirt, or getting body piercing. My point is that no matter how old some people get, they pretend that they are youthful to escape the reality of death and judgment. It is a vain attempt to ditch responsibility and grow up. These people have never grown up and recognized anything higher than themselves.
“When I was a child I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child, but when I became a man I put away childish things.” 1 Corinthians 13:11
