Romans 16
September 4th 2011 20:09
This is a great chapter for all of those who think that women were not looked highly upon in the bible. Of course it is not the only place, far from it. But, it is a good testimony to just how dedicated women were to Christ and the gospel. So, let's finish up with our Romans study. Please read chapter 16 and we'll reason together.
vs. 1-6: Paul gives respect and commendations to the Godly women who risked their lives for the sake of the gospel. Letting everyone know of their sacrifices and that they are to respect them.
vs. 7-16: Here Paul lists more people who have worked diligently for the purpose of spreading God's word. Both men and women, of all walks of life. They were saints.
vs. 17-20: A clear warning to Christians- watch for people in the church who don”t work for Christ, but whose works are from Satan. This means trouble-makers in the church. People who stand up for God for a public performance but who are actually evil in their private works. To watch them means that when you see a person who is lying or pretending to be a Christian, stop them and admonish them. If they refuse to turn from their evil ways and truly walk a Christian life then avoid them. ALWAYS stand up against ALL lies and be ready to combat them with scripture.
vs. 21-23: More thanks is given to his inner circle of people such as friends and family.
vs.24-27: The core of the ministry and thanks to God the Father and Christ the Son.
