Sexual Immorality
May 15th 2011 20:13
This is a hot button topic. But, I feel compelled to point it out because lately I seem to be hearing more sexually immoral people claim to be Christians. And, yet again, these same people are not searching God's love letter to us, our Holy Bible, to find out what HE says about what they are doing. Instead they claim the title of Christian to pacify their own conscience and continue their wicked practices while steering clear and refusing to learn the Word.
Romans 1:26
24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.
28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.
Here is scripture as to anyone that “claims” to be a Christian, and what we as true Christians should do if there is anyone who practices sexual immorality:
1 Corinthians 5:11-13
11 But now I am writing to you that you must not associate with anyone who claims to be a brother or sister but is sexually immoral or greedy, an idolater or slanderer, a drunkard or swindler. Do not even eat with such people.
12 What business is it of mine to judge those outside the church? Are you not to judge those inside? 13 God will judge those outside. “Expel the wicked person from among you.”
(Note the term brother or sister, this means in Christ, as children of God. Anyone who is a fellow Christian has always been called a brother or sister.)
