The Six Mistakes of Israel
March 2nd 2008 16:44
In Isaiah 5:1-25, we learn about ‘The Indictment of a Nation’. But I thought that it was good to share to see if we, meaning our selves or our countries, would also be indicted in today’s world. Let’s look through the mistakes of Israel.
1. Greed and Covetous; such as land grabbers who take and develop land that God gave us all for food all for monetary gain.
2. Drunkards; a daily routine to cover and conceal pain. In today’s world this could mean prescription drugs and street drugs as well, anything to numb life.
3. Blasphemers; those who refer to God as “..your God…” or those who have a deep hatred for God, or those that are constantly trying to take God out of our lives. So often we are taught to believe in anything and everything BUT God.
4. Good is evil and evil is good mentality; premarital sex and adultery or okay after all it is a ‘natural’ need- betraying your parents is okay, that is only a child’s way of becoming an adult- killing babies is okay, after all it is a matter of choice- homosexuality is okay after all it is mere preference- molesting children is okay too as that is also a ‘preference’. Then you have those same people stating: God is bad, prayer is bad, and parenting is bad.
5. Conceit and vanity; wise in your own eyes. Self-righteousness and delusions of nobility are all the focus. Whatever you want to do is fine, there are no consequences for your actions (Josh 21:15)
6. Self Diluted Judges; People in power destroying all moral foundation for political correctness. Those who pervert morality.
