Standing Firm in Our Christianity
February 3rd 2008 16:25
Standing Firm is often hard for many people as they give in to pressures and try adopting the world views of those who are out for themselves and hold nothing dear higher than themselves. Here are a few pointers to help you stand firm in faith:
- Learn to give up your freedom of ‘choice’ and pick up your cross daily. This means that you can not make your own decisions regarding your life and path, instead follow the 10 commandments and read your bible daily to find the right decisions to make.
- Keep your roots deep in the word of God and in Christ. We are to be in this world but not of this world.
- Build your life on Christ and His teachings. Do not adopt your own standards or set your own guidelines. By doing that you are abandoning your faith and basically setting a mind set that you can make a better life your way.
- Let go of the worldly desires and trust God. You need to constantly remind yourself that the things of this world are not going to last. You should be preparing for eternity.
- In everything give thanksgiving. There is an upside to everything. If you get mugged be thankful you still have your life. There will always be something to be thankful for.
