Study of Romans 9

Today we are reading through Romans Chapter 9. This is a fascinating chapter.
vs. 1-5
Paul confirms his position and affirms his sadness and sorrow describing Israel's rejection of Christ.
vs. 6-13
By reading these passages we can see clearly God's purpose. Also there is a distinction in the children of God versus the children of the flesh. Then, a piece of prophecy, “for the children not yet being born, nor having done any good or evil, that the purpose of God according to election might stand, not of works but of Him who calls” this is yet another scripture that points to certain people being the “election” of God in these times in which we live.
vs. 14-24
Now we read about the mercy of God and true justice. For instance, He will show His divine mercy and compassion to whomever He chooses. Which is to say that even when we may not see a person worthy of mercy God sees their heart and knows their life and intent, so He sees a clear picture of those who are deserving- whereas we only see limited parts of a person's life.
Have you ever noticed that people often love to play the judge, jury and executioner of others. But we do not know a person like God knows them. For He created them and can see what is in their hearts and minds. We do not have that deep knowledge because we are all equal as the creation of our Father. Sometimes people throw temper tantrums when they don't understand why God does what He does according to His perfect plan and will. But this ignorant position is more than spiritually unhealthy. God loves us and may allow some bad things to happen in order to change us into a better person or in order to use it in another way that we can not see. We have no right to question God because we are basically clueless. He has the knowledge of the ages and infinite wisdom whereas we are so focused on ourselves, our desires, our problems and our ways that our arrogance clouds our thinking and decision making process. We should be happy that He is in control and not us, and that He can rightly judge us in all of our actions.
vs. 25-32
Here not only do we see the present condition of Israel but also that faith is vital in salvation. The law should be utilized as a guiding tool but it is through faith that we are saved. Believing in Christ is the only way to attain salvation. Remember, no one gets to the Father but through Christ. Believing that He is the Son of God made flesh to show us the way to righteous living through love is the foundation of our relationship and the Christian faith.
