Go Out Into All The World…

November 5th 2008 17:10

Wicked people living in the filth of sin try to discourage Christians. They are liars that work hard to deceive you. When you teach the word of God you will see many filthy people telling you lies like: “you don’t need to live by the bible, after all it was written by men not God” Remember that the bible was written by the men that God knew would write exactly as He said. He is in control of all things especially the bible, anyone who has faith in Him knows this.

We are commanded to go out into the world and teach people about the truth of the bible. Please read these following scriptures:

John 8:31-32
Psalms 119:87-94
Psalms 37
John 14:13

What about Muslims? Or Jews? Should they be forced to live by the bible too?

Jews do read the Bible, Someone. The Old Testament is part of the Bible. As for Muslims, maybe they'd stop killing poeple if they read it.

Are you serious, S.L.? You do know that Islam is the most inherently peaceful of the major monotheistic religions?

Do you actually know anything about Islam?

Gee, Someone, let's see... I know that Muslims attacked the WTC in the 90's, the attacked the USS Cole, they bombed our embassies, they blew up our barracks in Beirut, they kill other Muslims on a daily basis. Oh, and didn't they launch the attack on 9/11? Yes, they did. Such peaceful, kind, loving people should surely be emulated, right? Go blow yourself up someplace and see what it gets you, Someone. Their Koran was the excuse for everything they have done and plan to do. They want to kill everyone who isn't a Muslim. The Bible would do them more good and bring them into this century, don't ya think?

Ever heard of the Crusades, woman? Very selective memory you have the S.L.. Christians visited untold suffering on the Muslims.

Besides, ask any Muslim who isn't a fanatic and they will tell you that they too are disgusted by the bombings and the bloodshed.

Anyway, I am a Christian too, believe it or not. I have, however, lived with Muslims, and I can tell you that the majority of them are more devoutly religious than most of your precious Christian flock. Ever seen a country of 200 million people fast for a month, just to prove their devotion? Or people who take breaks from their lives 5 times a day, every day, to go and pray?

Sounds a little tougher than your Christian gig. You can't judge Muslims based on their extremists, just like you can't judge Christians based on radical extremists. Although, I suppose I have about as much chance of reasoning with a suicide bomber as I have of reasoning with you.

Oh and I can hear you say it now, 'the crusades were centuries ago, we're better than that now'.

No, you aren't. Right up until the tsunami, there were clashes between Christians and Muslims all the time in Aceh. Just as many mosques were bombed as churches...

By the way, S.L., do you actually know any Muslims by any chance?

The Bible doesn't support murder, or any other sin, I don't know what the Koran says, all I know is what they do in the name of the koran. This is about the bible not about the koran if you want to discuss the Koran then you need to find a Muslim study blog.

"We are commanded to go out into the world and teach people about the truth of the bible."

I was merely asking for an expansion on this point, and how it applied to those choosing to follow another religion.

I grew up with Muslims, and I can tell you that the Koran just as, if not even more, peaceful than the bible. I only got into the Koran here because S.L. brought up a baseless attack on all Muslims, and I was merely trying to share some information with her that might help her understand Muslims a little better.

And it's not like atrocities have never been committed in the name of the bible, right?

Um Lester I'm not trying to be rude, I'm genuinely curious.

"The Bible doesn't support murder, or any other sin,"

Doesn't the bible say that if a girl commits adultery she should be put to death? Or a bunch of other sins that are punishable by death?

Someone, the death penalty for minor infractions in from the Old estament and you don't find Jews murdering people for small stuff anymore, do you? Feel free to go to a Koran study blog as Lester suggested. The Bible is being studied here and praising those who commit murder every day isn't very appealing, especially from Someone who refers to Christians in the second person.

The bible does not teach to murder. Yes, the crusades were a sad, sad thing. But no where in the bible did it ever say to go and kill unlike what some other religions teach.

Please give me quotes from the bible that say a person who commits adultery should be put to death. Because I know that laws are ‘an eye for an eye’... meaning that murder should be what a death sentence is for, not a lesser crime. Jesus proved this when he came to clarify the laws again for people in His teachings. Adultery should be punished by divorce, not death... etc. (Matthew)

Even Jesus stopped a stoning and told the woman to ‘go and sin no more’. He stopped the death sentence but was clear in telling her that it was wrong of her and that her action was a sin.
