The Bible: The Word of God
December 21st 2008 21:58
I have had quite a few people say to me when I teach the words of the bible that “it is just a book written by men.” And that the “bible can not be counted as the Word of God.” Well, let’s see what scripture has to say about this in our Christian faith. Let’s read the words that help us keep the bible always as our tool against the wicked and the liars that would discourage us from our faith.
I Thessalonians 2:13
“13 For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively works in you who believe.”
2 Timothy 3:12-17
“12 Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. 13 But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. 14 But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you have learned them, 15 and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.
16 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
