The Creation of Mankind
August 31st 2011 16:05
Here it is, the information on Creation as promised. This might be a little heavy for some as it may not be at all what you were taught. But let's remember that the Holy Spirit does the teaching not man. God's word can speak for itself.
Let's start with Genesis 1
Genesis 1:26 “Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” – By this we can see that God made hunters and fishermen, shepherds, etc.
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” – Here God created men and women (male and female are plural-other wise it would have said “a man and woman”) and tells them to go and multiply the earth. Also, that their purpose is to have dominion over the animals and fish, again reiterating their role. Remember this, it is important.
*Now let's go to Genesis Chapter 2
Genesis 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth, and all the host of them, were finished. 2 And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. 3 Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made.” ---This concludes the creation of the man (on the 6th day) before the seventh day which is to say various races with different positions over the earth. Man, meaning mankind.
Genesis 2:4 “This is the history of the heavens and the earth when they were created, in the day that the LORD God made the earth and the heavens, 5 before any plant of the field was in the earth and before any herb of the field had grown. For the LORD God had not caused it to rain on the earth, and there was no man to till the ground; 6 but a mist went up from the earth and watered the whole face of the ground.” --- No farmer to till the soil and keep re-seeding.
Genesis 2:7 “And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” --The “man”, singular, as opposed to God making both male and female together and telling them to go out into the world and multiply.
Now then let's look at the chain of events that take place here after the seventh day of rest:
*Genesis 2:8 “The LORD God planted a garden eastward in Eden, and there He put the man whom He had formed. 9 And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food.”
*Genesis 2:15 “Then the LORD God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it.” --- This man was NOT to go out into the world and multiply, he was to stay in the Garden of Eden and be that farmer to tend to it and keep it.” -- Now we see clearly this is not the same man as in chapter one created on the 6th day.
*Genesis 2:18 “And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.” --On the 6th day both male and female (plural) were created together. But here, this man was created first.
*Genesis 2:19 “Out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name. 20 So Adam gave names to all cattle, to the birds of the air, and to every beast of the field. But for Adam there was not found a helper comparable to him.” --Now we see that God made domestic animals for Adam to name. Some may argue the point that this is simply reiterating the 6th day creation but they would be wrong. Let's go back to Genesis 1. There you'll notice that God made the animals first before making mankind. So that indicates to us that these are two separate incidents as the chronological events are not the same.
Genesis 2:21 “And the LORD God caused a deep sleep to fall on Adam, and he slept; and He took one of his ribs, and closed up the flesh in its place. 22 Then the rib which the LORD God had taken from man He made into a woman, and He brought her to the man.” --It is important to note that it does not say “rib” in the manuscripts. It says “curve”. Now that we have technology and we are taught more about genetics we know that this likely meant the helix curve. Meaning the woman was made from him to be the same type of genetic person.
**Also, a further study into this for those who enjoy looking up the original words used in the manuscripts, you can plainly see that two names were used in describing each creation of man. This gives distinction between the two. One represents mankind the other a single man.
So, there you have it, two very different creations of mankind. The original names (in the Hebrew manuscripts describing the different people that were created), the chronology of events that states clearly two different creations, the different creations were given distinct roles on the earth, the ones on the 6th day were to go out into the world and multiply whereas the one made after the day of rest was to stay in the garden, etc. As if this were not enough to prove this point, let's skip ahead to after the death of Abel.
God punishes Cain for murdering his brother:
Genesis 4:12 “When you till the ground, it shall no longer yield its strength to you. A fugitive and a vagabond you shall be on the earth.” – He told Cain to leave the garden.
Genesis 4:13 “And Cain said to the LORD, “My punishment is greater than I can bear! 14 Surely You have driven me out this day from the face of the ground; I shall be hidden from Your face; I shall be a fugitive and a vagabond on the earth, and it will happen that anyone who finds me will kill me.” – IF they were the only people on the earth Cain wouldn't have been afraid of people killing him.
Genesis 4:15 “And the LORD said to him, “Therefore, whoever kills Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold.” And the LORD set a mark on Cain, lest anyone finding him should kill him.” – God Himself says that there are others confirming what Adam's family already knew. There were other people on the earth.
Genesis 4:16 “Then Cain went out from the presence of the LORD and dwelt in the land of Nod on the east of Eden. 17 And Cain knew his wife, and she conceived and bore Enoch.” --- Here, Cain leaves the Garden where his family lives, travels to another land fully populated and gets a wife.
You see, it is important to really read the scriptures. A lot of what confuses us doesn't have to. Don't listen to opinions and doctrines of man. Let the Holy Spirit teach you by God's word.
