What is the Significance of the Cross?
September 21st 2008 16:20
The cross is our symbol as Christians. (Please read 1 Corinthians 1)We look at it and it compels something within us; a thought, feeling, or deep desire. Why? Because our Savior, the Son of God, died for our sins as an overpowering act of love. So, what is the significance of the cross?
1. Jesus opened the door which separated man from God. We should have the utmost gratitude for His sacrifice. (Hebrews 9:12 & 9:26, Colossians 1:20-22)
2. Jesus taught about how we should live if we wish to be saved and accept His gift. This means to deny ourselves and pick up our own cross. (Matt 16:21-27)

Also it's not only a symbol Love, but it is a symbol hope, freedom, and eternal life. It's the most important symbol of Christianity. To me it's a pardon that save me from a horrible second death.
