The Difference Between Predestination and Reincarnation
January 1st 2012 21:10
Okay, some people have this topic of predestination and reincarnation a little mixed up, and in some cases, a lot messed up. So today let's set the record straight. These are two completely different things but quite a few people believe them to be synonymous.
Is predestination biblical? The answer is yes. There are countless places in the bible which speaks of certain people who were chosen before the foundations of this earth age (Ephesians 1) who are referred to as God's elect. These people stood against Satan once before (at the rebellion) and God knows He can count on them again. Because many followed Satan during his campaign to rebel against God, instead of sentencing all of them to death, God decided to test them all in the flesh and expose them to both good and evil whereby He give them free will to choose whether or not to love Him. Those who do love Him will live eternally with Him, those that choose not to will be be put to death and blotted out. The elect do have a destiny which can be read about throughout the old testament and the teachings of Christ.
Is reincarnation biblical? No, it is not. Reincarnation means for a soul to be continually born in the flesh. For example: a soul is born in the flesh and when it dies it comes back again into another flesh body until that dies and so on. This is not biblical.
Our souls are supposed to be born through the bag of waters (mother's womb) in the flesh only once. We are to choose to love and worship God or not during this time. Once we die, our soul returns to our father to which it belongs. From there we are judged by our choice in the flesh.
