The Rapture: Are we Supposed to “Escape” the Tribulation?
June 8th 2011 19:16
Matthew 24:21 “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened. 23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect." – Jesus clearly states here that God's elect, true believers in Christ and children of God, are going to go through it. So, where did the idea we are going to be gone come from?
Matthew 24:3-15 Explains thoroughly that we will all be here. Remember also that Jesus said, “Behold, I have told you ALL things.” So, since HE said we would stay and not to be deceived by false doctrine and He never said anything about a “rapture” then I am confident in my decision not to fall into the rapture trap. I will stand with Jesus and His teachings as to how the end will come.
If we want to go a little further in scripture we can read of the Great Apostasy in 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 which reads: 3 “Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.”
Scripture repeatedly states the tribulation is coming and we should be ready. If our Father and Jesus Christ Himself taught us what to expect, how not to be deceived and told of us all we were going to have to endure until His return, including the short reign of Satan, why is it that so many are questioning Him that claim to be His followers? I for one stand on the word of God and believe my Savior. I will not be deceived by people who are preaching to “escape” or “fly away” to save their soul from the tribulation and the trials ahead. I will stand against the evil that is coming. I will stand.
