True or False: If you are Divorced you are Going to Hell

“If you are Divorced you are Going to Hell” this is something that some people like to say, but they are wrong. Divorce is NOT the unpardonable sin. Regardless of fault divorce can be forgiven when it is repented of. Anyone who says that divorce is too big of a sin for Christ to forgive, you might not want to listen to. Is divorce bad? Yes, because it is a union broken. That is not good. BUT, like all sin, it can be forgiven.
The next time a person tries to put you down for divorce you might want to remind them that scripture (Jeremiah 3) says that God divorced Israel for her wicked ways. Each situation is different and there are reasons for divorce. Regardless, upon sincere repentance all sin involved can be forgiven and no man on earth has the right to condemn another for it.
