Understanding the True Meaning of Wheat and Tares (Part 1)
September 9th 2012 17:26
In order to better understand what the "wheat and tares" really means, lets travel back in time to the Garden of Eden where the Wheat and the Tares had their origins. As you can see by the Scriptures below, both the Wheat and the Tares had their origins defined as "trees".
*Genesis 2:9 And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
The Tree of Life: Figuratively speaking, Jesus is referred to as the Tree of Life.
*Genesis 2:16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”
Now we see that God warns them about this tree. The “fruit” is not good to eat and will bring them death. So, we see the two people referred to here in Eden. Both have access to Adam and Eve.
