Understanding the True Meaning of Wheat and Tares (Part 3)
September 16th 2012 18:05
Understanding of scripture isn't always easy. Sometimes the translations can lead to errors. Let's see what the original words were and what they meant as we continue to learn about the origins of the Wheat and the Tares.
After God cursed Satan in a metaphorical sense and insulted him, He continued:
*Genesis 3:15
(still speaking to Satan) And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.”
Definitions (in Hebrew) of the original words (of the manuscripts) in this text:
-The word enmity, in Hebrew is eybah, meaning hostility or hatred
-The word seed, in Hebrew is zera, which means the conception of a child
Note: “her Seed” Seed here is capitalized in the text which is talking about Christ. This was the beginning of the first prophecy: in her blood line Christ would come. Notice the end of that prophecy between Satan's seed and her Seed: “He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.” Further meaning that although Satan would bruise his heels (by nailing Him to the cross), Christ would ultimately bruise his head when He comes to destroy him once and for all.
*Genesis 3:16
To the woman He said: “I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in pain you shall bring forth children; your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.”
-Here we notice the truth revealed: the result of the real sin committed, that she had conceived from it. Can a woman conceive a child from eating food? No.
-Here is the first mention of the role of a man as the leader, to guide and protect so that woman could not be deceived into sin.
