Was Jesus Crucified on a Cross or a Stake?

October 23rd 2011 16:09

Today I just want to address an issue it seems that many people have on the subject of The Crucifixion. Usually, in an effort to create doubt a non-believer will say “You know, you've got it all wrong. Jesus wasn't even crucified on a cross, He was crucified on a stake.” This is an effort to make Christians feel stupid. Let me once and for all clear up this confusion and feel free to do your own research.

Now, it is true that during the time many areas did use a stake to crucify people and they did nail the at the wrist instead of the hand. BUT, not all areas did this. One place in particular did not. The Romans for example. They crucified people on what was referred to as the “Roman Cross”. And, who crucified Christ? The Romans. In order to have used ANY other method other than a Roman Cross would have taken a special order and time to verify it- that never happened and history supports that fact all the way around.
