We are Called: Separation

In, 1 Peter 2:1-9, there are 5 lessons to learn from. They all revolve around God's call to believers, how we should live our lives as God's chosen people. So, we will go through them each, one by one.
Let's start with the call of “separation”. What does this mean exactly? Scripture teaches repeatedly that sin separates us from God. So, we are to be separated from sin and sever the ties that bind us to evil. Once we are free from those bonds we can cling to God. This means to separate ourselves from people, places and things that embrace sin.
