What are You Being Taught?

Why do we attend church? Is it to worship God and learn scripture, which is to say get fed with the bread of life so that you can live according to God's will? Does you preacher teach God's word? These are all questions that we should be asking ourselves. We are inching along to the final battle and if we are not learning the truth of God's word then being deceived is very likely.

We are called to test all people who come in His name, which is to say “Christian preachers” because according to scripture many will come in His name and teach falsely and lead many people astray causing them to worship the anti-christ. Are you testing your pastor or preacher? There are ways you can find out what they believe on certain key facts of the bible and see for yourself if they are teaching actual scripture or made up doctrines/traditions of men.

Does your church teach what Philadelphia and Smyrna taught? These are the only two churches that Christ was happy with. (Revelation 2 & 3) So, we can take what they taught as an example of what should be taught.

Is it frequently taught what is going to happen before Christ's return? That Satan will come at the 6th trump and Christ will NOT return until the 7th?

Are you being taught that Christ will not return until after Satan arrives on earth and after the tribulation? (Matthew 24:29-30)

Are you taught that you could be one of God's elect? If so, are you being taught what your mission will be during the tribulation until Christ returns, which is to say the elect will be delivered up and give testimony before the world whereby the Holy Spirit will speak through you? (Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 21)

Is your church teaching the Parable of the Fig Tree? Jesus didn't say maybe you should learn it, He said “Learn the parable” Why? Because it tells you of the final generation in which we are living right now. If your church doesn't teach what Christ demanded, whereby you wouldn't be deceived in the end times, that is putting the congregation at risk. (Matthew 24, Mark 13, Luke 13, Luke 21) (The Parable can also be found in Jeremiah 24) Although this is a deep study that takes serious studying to understand it, it is important and should be taught to all Christians.

OR, is your church teaching falsehoods:

Eve ate an apple in the garden and that was the sin. (Not true on many levels: Remember of course the two “trees” The Tree of Life scripture tells us is Christ, the Tree of the knowledge of good and evil is Satan as he was created good but then rebelled. If she partook of the tree that is another name for Satan, what does that mean? Let's break it down further: 1- after partaking in the sin they covered their private parts, not their mouths. 2- they were in a fig grove which is why they used fig leaves not apple leaves. 3- Apple is not even mentioned in the bible during the accounting of Adam and Eve yet some teachers will teach it. 4- Eve became pregnant by the act which is why in Genesis 3:15 when God cursed Satan and said He would put enmity between his seed and her Seed, “seed” is “carnally reproducing, creating a child, conception” - then in Genesis 3:16, God tells Eve that her birth shall be made painful because of the act of sin she committed. Eating does not cause conception, never has, never will. In an effort to try and keep this short I will leave it at that even though there is so much more we could go into to prove this point.)

Are you taught about some “rapture” whereby Jesus would come and take you away before the tribulation? Then this teaching would go directly against the teachings of Christ Himself that He would not come until AFTER the tribulation. “Rapture” is not in the bible, yet it is preached as gospel. What does scripture say about this? 2 Corinthians 11:3-4 “But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or if you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted— you may well put up with it!” Then in 2 Thessalonians 2 we see that it is pointedly explained that in NO WAY will Christ return until after Satan has his time on earth during the tribulation. It may seem a minor thing but in reality it is setting people up to be deceived by the first one claiming to be the true Christ- which is Satan.

Are you taught once saved always saved? That is not accurate. Many people are teaching that you can sin as much as you want and live how ever it pleases you and you will go to heaven and be saved no matter what you do. That is a lie. Christ will never leave you or forsake you, that is true; BUT, you can leave Christ and walk away from salvation by living a life of sin. Salvation is there for all those who are humble enough to recognize their sins, repent for those sins, then turn away from those sins and lead a transformed life by adhering to God's rules.

Or is the message only “salvation”? Unfortunately just hearing the salvation message and never getting into the meat of God's word is not going to prepare anyone for what is coming. If your church does not teach scripture, all of it, not what is politically correct, or that which won't offend sinners happy in their sins, but all of it, then you are not learning what God wants you to learn.
