What does Scripture say about Trials and Suffering
August 26th 2012 14:32
It is a part of life and a part of our testing here in the flesh to go through suffering. Why? Because we were sent here in the flesh, innocent, to have both positive and negative (which is to say good and evil) influences and to decide if we will follow God, live in the steps of Jesus (obedient, compassionate, disciplined, etc.) or if we want to live as Satan (rebellious, lustful, deceitful, etc.). So fiery trials are going to happen to us whereby we can see both good and bad, then we can make choice and perform actions that show which side we fall on. But it can get discouraging to many while we are going through our problems. This scripture can provide some spiritual help during these tough times.
1 Peter 4:12-14- “Beloved, do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified.”
