What is a Born Again Christian

You have heard the term, but what is a born again Christian? This is a true believer and follower of Christ. When I say “believer“, there is a distinction that should be made. A person can “believe” that there is a God, or “believe” that Jesus Christ lived and died on the cross. But, that is not the same as being a “believer”.
Being a born again Christian means that you believe in God, worship Him alone and know that Jesus is the Son of God and came to die on the cross for our sins. You “believe” that the scripture is truth and God loves us so much that he has made provision for our salvation through Christ.
Born again means new. Therefore, a new Christian is a new creation. With this power of believing is an awesome responsibility of living the life that God intends and denying ourselves. If you are not ready to leave the old you behind and put on the armor of God to live your daily life as He commands then you are not yet ready to be a born again Christian. John 3:3 says: Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he can not see the kingdom of God.”
The question is: Do you merely believe that God exists or do you believe in Him and that Jesus is our Savior? Do you believe in Him enough to love Him and follow Him by sacrificing your worldly ways? That will determine whether or not a person is born again.

16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
John 14:15

“Whoever has my commands and obeys them, he is the one who loves me. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I too will love him and show myself to him."
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”
