Have you ever noticed how revealing the names in the bible are? A person’s name holds so much when they are God’s elect, or chosen people. Let’s just take a look at some examples as a sort of study lesson to better understand how perfectly God chooses people for certain, or specific, destinies.
Let’s see of you can recall their lives and see how well these names fit with their destinies as designed by God:
Abraham = father of many
Moses = in Egyptian it means saved from the water and in Hebrew it means drawn from water.
Daniel = God is my judge.
Ezekiel = God strengthens.
Nehemiah = comforted by God
Saul = Asked for (later he was renamed) Paul = Humble
Rahab = Spacious
Timothy = Honoring God
Zechariah = God remembers
Satan = Adversary
Jesus had many names as the Son of God, all of which fit Him and His role here on earth.
Jesus (sacred name: Yeshua) = YHVH (God)’s Salvation
Christ = Anointed One
Emmanuel = God with us.
