Worrying
November 9th 2008 03:47
Worry is classified as a sin. We are told throughout scripture not to worry because He will never leave or forsake us. Jesus has said this message repeatedly. So, to do it is to go against what He said and that is sin. If we do not have FAITH that God will stand by us and provide for our needs then how can we expect Him to? Of course we are going to feel apprehensive or worry in some way, but the problem is when we consistently worry without faith and without going to God in prayer.
Remember, worry never gets you anywhere. Worry can not change situations, lives or problems.

I think that's a terrible thing to say. It's like saying being human is a sin.
It's like saying a mother is sinning because she's worried that her children haven't come home. Is crying over them when the police tell her they aren't coming home a sin also?
I mean, say what you like, but claiming worry is classified as a sin is such utter rubbish. Who classified it as a sin? Your personal Jesus?
Imagine being the child of someone who told you that worry was a sin. You'd worry about your parents. Is that two sins?
I think saying worry is a sin is more sinful than worrying.
I worry about you.

I'm sure as a Christian she'll accept it. A lot worse things were said to Christ and He never said anything he didn't mean.

Henrietta, please don't be offended. SL is right in her assumption. I am merely saying that excessive worry, ie. what will I eat, what will I wear, will I get that job, etc. - Jesus in His sermons asks the questions: do you see the birds worrying, no because they know God has provided and that He is in control... learn from that.
In a more simple manner of speaking: If a person puts all of their trust in God... all of it- why is there any need to worry? We are told to place all of our faith in God. Now if we had total faith, what would we need to worry about?
We are human, and yes, humans are sinful and wicked, but we do have emotions and we tend to feel first and have faith secondly. That is a sinful way to live. Now, does this mean that every person that has ever worried is going to hell, probably not but I can not say.
I am merely saying that we should do as Jesus taught and have faith first and limit our worry so that it is not excessive and to the point that it insults God. We are not to worry, that is written in the bible, so if we disobey, put our faith on the bottom of our priority lists and prove to God that we do not believe in Him, this only says to Him that our faith is one of convenience.
